Tyler, Co-Founder and CFO at Everee will discuss Transaction Advisory Services, Technical Accounting Expertise, and Growth-Stage Support.
Leslie, who is Co-Founder and principal at The Artemis Fund will discuss Women in Venture Capital & Female Founders.
Tyler’s background: Tyler, an accountant by trade, is the founder of Vital Accounting and Consulting and a co-founder of Everee. Tyler started his career start in San Francisco, where fortune 500 companies were the daily focus, but where it was challenging to feel a true contribution to those businesses. Tyler returned to his home state of Utah in 2004 and utilized the tools he learned in servicing Fortune 500 companies to help those in our local marketplace. As a partner with Tanner LLC, a local firm with approximately 150 professionals, Tyler became a transaction services leader for many companies, private equity and venture capital firms in the west. The experience Tyler obtained from auditing companies, preparing them for diligence or providing specialty transaction services, allows him to be of the best service to all growth companies. Tyler left the comfort of a large firm to create his own firm, Vital Accounting and Consulting, that focuses primarily on what he loves and is most passionate…transaction advisory services, technical accounting expertise, and growth-stage support. Tyler’s goal is to reduce the time from LOI to funding as well as dilution to founders. During the past 5 years, Tyler has assisted private equity and venture capital firms in deploying over $100 million in capital and have assisted companies in raising over $1 billion in equity and debt financing. Tyler also has had the opportunity to assist many companies, post-transaction, in management and other operational roles to ensure on-going success. Tyler’s experience spans a variety of industries, including software, manufacturing, retail, life sciences and others. Tyler recently co-founded a software technology, Everee, with a few other high powered executives in the Salt Lake area. Everee is a HR/Payroll software platform that is disrupting the payroll cycle through innovative technology, supported by unique and one of-a-kind financing. Everee recently closed a $4 million seed round of financing.
Leslie’s background: Leslie, a dedicated angel investor, is Co-Founder and Principal of The Artemis Fund, the first female founded, female focused VC fund based in Houston (and Park City), investing in founders throughout the US. The Artemis Fund is raising $20m to invest in tech-enabled seed and series A stage companies founded and led by women. Leslie’s experience as an angel investor in over 40 companies and as an LP in five other VC funds led her to establish her own fund with her two partners — Stephanie Campbell and Diana Murakhovskaya. Together, the trio brings a cross generational perspective, diverse backgrounds (MBA, JD and engineer/wall street trader) and a huge network for deal sourcing and vetting companies. In addition, Leslie is a board member of the Houston Angel Network (most active in the US), a board member and advisory board member of early stage companies, a member of the Investment Committee of Blue Ivy Ventures, and AVG Fund), and a speaker on Venture Capital financing, diversity in the startup community, and angel investing. She is also and a member of the Advisory Board and Planning Committee of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). Leslie practiced corporate law both in large law firms and in-house (as a general counsel) for over 25 years. Prior to founding The Artemis Fund, Leslie spent three years recruiting C-suite legal executives as a member of Major, Lindsey & Africa (“MLA”), the nation’s leading executive legal search firm. She also worked with the Board & Corporate Governance practice of MLA’s sister company, Allegis Partners, to assist with identifying and placing top talent for boards.
